Or is it the rods crossing. :lol: Thanks for the clue in the title... would have thought it was a matter of perspective.

At 6ft, the poles collide, beyond that they actually cross over. My 9fts make an X, with or without the extenders.

I don't know why someone hasn't mentioned this about the TI's. I never noticed it on the TI till now cuz I was using my Aka RAM holders and running a single 3rd pole in the center. The convergence is not that bad on my (old) AI.

Maybe a few TI owners could check their pole holders and comment.

For transporting them when not fishing, what you have isn't a bad thing. It keeps the overall craft more compact, less resistant to wind and the rods less likely to hang on anything or get in the way.

If you're going to troll, it's not likely you'd be using the hull rod holders anyway (I wouldn't).

Yep... not quite parallel. I know they wanted these to be for storage more than trolling, but they should be closer to parallel at least. The boat tested here was much more parallel than what you show.

Tweaked in by your racks maybe?

Hi Matt. Not likely any warpage from the TI3 mods - yet. Give us some time. :-)

The crossbrace ball is the only attachment point nearby and can't effect that recessed area of the mold. The Aka Mounts/tube have steel backing plates and actually add overall rigidity to the rear gunwales.

I was looking at all our photos this year, (before the mods as well) and while it's clear that the tubes angle inward, I can also see now that the starboard tube is deflected more than the other.

There's probably variations in tube angles from boat to boat. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a remnant of the cooling process. This was one of the early TI hulls, BTW.

I'll try to get some shots inside the hull soon. Meanwhile, maybe other TI owners can chirp in.

Preferably, by design, these holders would be flared as "outies" rather than "innies". In our case, even storing 2 average poles presents an issue. The pole extenders, which I love, make the problem a little worse.

On this trip, our fishing lines remained crossed the whole time we sailed. Fortunately, luck was with us and we didn't have a single strike. :lol:

Hello Nohuhu
I couldn"t help noticing those beautifully made hiking boards (if that's the correct term). I have envy. Would you be prepared to put up some more detailed photos? A pattern even? Or any tips. What is the wood? Can you use them with tramps in place?
This is my next project so any advice would be appreciated.

NOHUHU's current design (version 3 I believe) works with traps because he didn't use the PVC pipe just built the bench.
