New Tandem Island in Hilo Hawaii. Would like to find Insurance (Theft) on the Big Island. I Store it in the carport and transport it on top of my truck. First time on any forum so hope I am doing this correct. About never got registered. Could not answer the questions. Thank You Roie |

BoatUS about $323 including liability & medical coverage. $2500 is automatically covered on my homeowners policy but not full. |

Howzit Roie, good have another Braddah on the forum. I'm gonna assume, at the least, that you will need to add it to your home (or possible renters's) insurance as a "kayak", (personal property). There may be no charge to do this with some companies. Document where and how it is secured, and expect a deductible. If it's officially state registered as a "boat with trailer", things may get harder and it may require a separate policy with your home insurer, or someone else. If it's damaged in transit, it's a car insurance question under that vehicle's policy. Let them know how you plan to transport it. It's a liability to them. If it's stolen or damaged while "off the truck" or on the water, you probably have no recourse. Maybe a recreational boat policy with some liability, like Bob mentions, is a good idea. You want to shoot for "Total Replacement Costs" where you can. We have discussed this subject in other threads. Lot's of folks commented. Try the forum "search" engine. A Hui Hou! |

Thank you nohuhu I looked up insurance in the search engine and found lots of info for insurance in Australia. No help there. Got busy yesterday with mast bearings. They fell out. Cleaned up the races and reinstalled. Hope that is enough to fix it. Going to A bay Sunday. Kelly is working on getting me some new parts. Sounds like BoatsUs is my best bet. Waiting for some call backs. Thanks again for suggestions. Roie |

On a new boat? Wow, seen this on quite a few TIs lately. Sumpthins goin on,.. Hate to see a super minor thing like that keep you grounded. I'm still blessed, with havin most of my marbles. |
