Hi all, thought I'd share some photos of my new ride. Just finished pimping and wondering how much more to go. Sometimes less is more for me. I think I have enough for now.

I've got a trip in the planning to South West Rocks in late Feb with a few other Al riders from up north, and my quarry will be marlin (hopefully). Just have to upgrade a reel to Okuma 16000 Salina 3 high speed and some 24kg braid and I think I'll be on the money.

Well that's the plan at this stage anyway. 8)

Looks great!
Did you use particular decals so they stick and resist salt water?
I'm also interested in the bar you've got under the front of your chair - what is it and how is it attached to the boat (if at all)?

I was at upper Myall Lakes for a day a few months back and can hardly wait to head north (from Canberra) again.

Rob, I got the decals made by a mate in the business so they wont be damaged by the salt water.
Mingles skipper seat is the ducks guts. Here's his post viewtopic.php?f=69&t=46998
I attached mine with large zip ties (4) and covered the tube ends with 25mm rubber chair leg stoppers.
Mate I work at Wetspot Watersports in Fyshwick, so drop in for a chat and a look around.

Using the bar method like xdcammer has the seat leaning back a bit more than the alternate method. I've seen xdcammer fall asleep in his because it's like a recliner. :lol:

I do have a seat, but the connection isn't as fancy as either of yours and it's one of my holiday fixes (shoving extra lifejackets under to bring the front up is a bit of a no-no I fear :o ).

I've got lots of intentions of taking kids out on the lake over the xmas holidays.
If I'm luckier, then maybe a trip to Clyde/Bateman's or even Narooma or Tuross may be in order in the very early new year.

...and I think Bob should pimp some more - I've never seen anyone "do" the rudder, but I think something on there would be perfect to showoff when it's being towed/upright :D .

I reckon there's more chance of getting people to the LBG than Googong or the Clyde.

I wouldn't mind getting down to LBGriffin at some stage. Are there any camping spots on the banks of the lake ? Or if I slept on the AI, do you reckon I'd get nabbed by some bloke who thinks he's more important than he actually is ?

As long as you didn't show a/too much light, you could easily sleep on Springbank Is. (see https://goo.gl/maps/bPrcV - there's even a kayaker on the middle bottom in yellow :D ) - toilets are top-left.
Spinnaker Is. had its willows cut down a few years ago and is still a bit bare now - before, you couldn't see the middle of the island from the shore, but now it's windswept.
Sleeping on the banks will almost certainly be a problem - there are bikepaths which go around much of the lake and, while you'd probably be safe, someone may dob on you.
I'm sure we can find a bed or, at the very least, some grass in the yard to camp on!

Yeah, LBG is central to the Northsiders and Southsiders and plenty of good places to launch. I would be keen to see social activities like you suggested going.

I reckon you could get away with an overnighter (or two) on Springbank Island.

Yeah mate we got a spare room if your comming down. And a great man cave too, just bring the Boags, or Cascades! :lol:
