I just saw this article about 2015 Hobies going to vantage seats and Mirage Drives with roller bearings. I assume this will apply to AIs and TIs? Cost difference? Id like to know before I pull the trigger on a 2014 TI. Id love to have those seats on a TI over the current ones. WOW!!! I think I will have to find aa way back out of retirement to trade in my 2012 TI when they migrate these upgrades to the Islands... |

Did anyone else notice that the red tandem kayak in the pic looks very much like a TI, but there are no aka's mounted to it. Possibly there are finally releasing their best kayak (hands down) to the market finally as a stand alone kayak (like the adventure). If they do it's about time in my opinion, my TI in kayak mode is the best kayak I have ever owned. Bob Edit: I know it's an oasis but wanted to put my hint in for a TI kayak (made you look lol) |

Looks like the Vantage seat rumours are true?  The pull to open scuppers are a great idea as well! Looking forward to MORE info Hobie! PS: Bob, it's hard to tell from the pic but I'm guessing it's an Oasis. I share your sentiments though on the TI's benefits. |

Looks like I will be machining a set of fairing blocks to bolt onto my 2013 AI to accept the pins on the new seat. I assume the scupper drains will work on previous models? |

The drop down centerboard, in my opinion, is the best new feature on the AI. While still not a fan of the new seat (but I have not tried one yet) this looks like a nice cross between the old AI and TI. Maybe just what the doctor ordered. Has sail size been increased? Is the market about to be flooded with used AI and TI's? |

Wow alright! Very revealing pics: -extra sail batten -redesigned drivewell plug -the AMA look concave as well as longer Where are the water funnelling handles? |

Stringy, I think (hope!) the apparent concave ama is due to wide angle lens distortion, as surely a convex bottom would be more logical. |

The interesting thing is that so many of us find the current TI the better all around boat, even if you go solo. This new AI, provided you know you aren't going to take a passenger, could bridge that gap and provide the best of all worlds. My Pro Angler might be for sale. |

I remember Tom thinking the AI hull should be taller, guess they listened. Can't wait to see the new specs on the TI. I'm also interested to learn more about the drive bearings. Should mean less maintenance, but will they be bullet proof against salt. |
