In this age of mass production, there is something really special about a timber hull, built with a fine eye to detailed craftsmanship. These two 20 foot kayaks were designed around Miragedrives. Apologies for being off topic, but these things look so beautiful... And I do believe they have preempted the seating arrangement of the PA17T!! http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/dockland ... 1041169292 |

I could not get myself to place that boat into the water. It's a work of art. I'd be out there on the water with paper towels for everytime a wave rolled over the bow. Vetgam |

We all appreciate a work of art Tony. Using Hobie parts it is hardly off topic. I like others, appreciate these treasures, especially match stick. Having done a boat building course with TAFE, I have an idea of the cost involved. This is me building a 11' dinghy. And this is the finished product with a mirror sail rig but no hobie parts so even more off subject. ![]() No, I don't own the boat. I forgot to buy the Mrs a pearl wedding anniversary present. So I named the boat Pearl and presented it to her. She subsequently sold it at the wooden boat festival. Personally I don't think a man can have too many boats but she disagreed. I wonder if he would sell match stick separately. I could stud the tiller with sapphires and present it for the next anniversary. Perhaps not as I couldn't part with that if I got my hands on it. |

tilroh was a forum regular for a while and posted details of his amazing custom boats back around the start of 2011. Here is one post that includes some video viewtopic.php?f=11&t=33847&p=134989 |
