Looking to purchase a 2015 TI and would appreciate dealer recommendations in the SF Bay Area. Thanks for any advice!

Thanks. I got the same list on the Hobie site. I'm interested in recommendations and experiences (good or bad).

I would recommend them all - but I work for Hobie, and I doubt you'll find people replying to this post...have you tried talking to them and getting a feel for them yourself? Maybe look on Yelp for reviews?

I went to California Canoe and Kayak and drove up from the Monterey area. This store has an extensive inventory of Hobie kayaks so you can try different ones out on the water that is less than 150 feet from their shop. They sell a lot more Hobie kayaks and so have more experience with rigging them should you decide to have them add a sail kit or an anchor trolly to the boat.

People there are very friendly and very professional which is a great combination.

Good to know. They're the closest dealer to me which is another plus. Thanks!

Consider making the drive to Santa Rosa for Wind Toys. I purchased my 2014 TI last summer from them. I would guess that they are the leading seller of Hobie Sail in Northern California. When I wanted to buy they were the only ones with boat and trailer in stock in multiple colors, every one else was special order. They also do demo days out of their Sausalito location. I live in the east bay, but the drive was worth it.

Wind Toys in Santa Rosa rocks. Can't say enough good stuff about them.

Can't recommend wind toys in Santa Rosa. Dealer is non responsive; as a result I made purchases elsewhere...ya gotta know, though, that most boat dealers are not true salesman, they are at best, order takers.

Have dealt with California Canoe and Kayak and the owner went the extra mile to get me fitted with a good drysuit (did not buy a boat from them, though).

Truth to tell, all the Hobie parts I purchased I got from a dealer out of state by mail order--mostly because with CA dealers "I can't get, no, Satisfaction...I can't get no, Hobie action, but I try, and I try, and I try, and I try..."

I had a great experience with Keith and his team at Cal Canoe and Kayak as well.
