I just purchased the below for a fish finder. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ILK2C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#Ask and I was wondering what a good battery charger would be. What are you guys using? |

I use a small Battery Tender charger for all my sealed lead-acid batteries. (And for the truck battery on occasion when it's sitting around unused a lot.) This is the model I have: http://www.batterytender.com/Chargers/B ... 0-75A.html |

X2 on the Battery Tender. The BT comes with two connectors. One has clips the other has ring terminals. It also has a built in fuse holder on said connectors. I cut the plug off of one of them and soldered it to the chartplotter leads (I removed the fuse holder that came with the chartplotter). I used the other one to go into the battery box, but left the fuse holder on it. The fuse holder is inside my battery box so no corrosion worries for it. If you do this get a new fuse! Both my Garmin's used a 3 amp fuse and the BT comes with a 7.5 amp fuse installed. Extra connectors are available in case you want to use the BT for other things. The model RandomJoe links to can be had for a lot less $$ than it costs straight from Deltran - A bit of Googling will pay off. |

I picked up the bt (non-Jr version). I figured for the extra 20 I can charge quicker. Now time to mount my fish finder in the boat. I'll probably do some testing for locations with the transducer before I find a permanent solution. I want to test the transducer directly in the water versus thru the hull |
