We took delivery of our 15 TI around April 1. Our TI did not come with the front hatch liner. During the setup our dealer and the Hobie rep questioned whether the new TI came with a front hatch liner since they were apparently included on the 14 versions. I was in Houston a few weeks ago and asked a dealer there if they had a liner to fit the 15 TI. He did not, but called Hobie and someone with Hobie said that the boats were supposed to come with the liner and all I needed to do was get with my dealer and when they provided the serial number Hobie would ship one out. My dealer just told me that he spoke with a designer at Hobie and they told him that there is not a liner for the 15 TI and they do not intend to make one since it causes the boat to take on water in heavy waves. All that said, has anyone received a front hatch liner with their 15 TI ???? |

Islands have never had forward hatch liners. The hatch seal is more critical on an island due to bow down sailing which forces more water over the area. |

Thanks, that is what I needed to know since we received conflicting information from Hobie through two dealers. |

If this would cause the forward hatch to leak more in a 2015 TI it would sink. In moderate to mild seas, I took on 10 gallons of water in 7 hours of sailing. This boat takes on the water without help from a hatch bucket. This has to be a defect in design. Yes, I've checked out all the other ways water can get in. It's the front hatch. |

You have a defect of some kind, but absolutely not a defect in design. The Island design has been proven since 2007. As noted in your other topic/posts.... contact your dealer for help on this. |
