That's quite interesting. With just a few more mods they could have turned that into a good desalinator for salt water trips.

I "kinda" liked this one. You can hold it in your hand or place on the hatch of the island.
How about warm mulled wine whilst negotiating the surf?

I bought the biolite 2 yrs ago and have used it over and over on camping trips. It works great as long as you have a good supply of dry wood (not a problem on the ten thousand islands in Florida where I mostly camp). When it's windy, the biolite can be our only hope of cooking.

You'll notice in the picture it shows it charging an iPhone. The built in thermoelectric generator is a bit underpowered for an iPhone. I recently bought biolite's kettlecharge and it puts out a solid 10watts. Nice to have around but I normally welcome a dead phone when I'm on the islands :)
