Ok, so I finally got around to completing my video review of the 2015 AI. This is the 720p special Shia LaBeouf edition (watch in HD) that was mostly shot at Fraser Isl over the course of a week-long expedition earlier this year.

Cracking video, very engaging. I'm wondering... For fishing, what basic AI mods and accessories (not tackle / electronics) are essential from the get-go?

I'm finalizing my 2015 AI order on Monday. I think I'll want a port side tramp and a rod holder for the aft port side aka.

Roller, I couldn't think of a more fitting backyard to get the most out of the new AI. You're going to have a lot of fun with it.

Pal, re: essential mods & accessories, it depends on your style of fishing, how far you plan to go and what sort of legal requirements there are in the area you're using it. But at a minimum I'd say rod leashes, hobie rod extender tubes for the flush molded rod holders, and thats about it. From there we get into how long is a piece of string territory. It all comes down to your preferred strategies and equipment.

Portside tramp is a good idea, and guys I know that have used Railblaza rod holders for aka mounted rods speak highly of it. Lots of rod mounting options on an Island.

Can you actually buy the 2015 Tramps separately?

You can now Skymax, yes. Well, its now listed as a separate part with a part#s for port and starboard sides, but not sure if any Aus distributors will have stock of singles yet.

Ta.
I find Two Tramps makes it a bit of a scramble in a shore break as I am not as quick as I used to be.

Somehow climbing on from the Stern and arriving in the cockpit head-first takes longer than standing next to the seat and vaulting my bum over the wales, and the great new seat can not be knee-trampled like the old one.

Although I did see an Oz vid where a guy had an easier time clambering on to the stern AKA with the solid Bench-type platform because his knees did not drop down onto a sagging Tramp on the other side of the AKA which was much lower.

Yep, I find most of my Island customers want a single tramp. I only use one because I need to be able to fold in one of the amas to haul in fish. 2 tramps are of no use to me (or a lot of my customers) which is why I lobbied for them to make singles available. Very appreciative that Matt listened and responded.

That is feedback truly working, I would not have bought Two, but I will buy One.

Awesome video! Have you clocked how fast the AI is? What are the average and top speeds you experienced on your trip?
