I got the AI2 into a set of large waves in smooth water formed by a boat wake, a shallow point and outgoing tide. The boat surfed/planed to the point that if felt like a Laser does when it gets on plane. It had that sound and feel/vibration you get from the rudder. AWESOME!. I never experienced this in the AI1, although I may not have found the right conditions. I am sure the extra buoyancy forward helps and the bow did not dig in and threaten to pitchpole. Max speed 8.9 knots. Another great day - love this boat! |

Somewhere I think I skimmed over a photo of an AI (1 or 2, dunno) that somebody had grafted some shaped form on to so that it had a removable planing section.Didn't register at the time, but I think the intent was to have a Weta-like hull for heavy air. Anybody else see this? |

I believe that would be fusioneng's (Bob) TI. He made a section out of foam to help with planing. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk |
