Just wondering if anyone knows what the narrowest width for a trailer is to tow the Tandem AI? I have a perfect space to park the trailer down the side of my house but the catch is it is only 1.25m width (4 ft 2"). (it is a tight fit!) Is this do-able in any way/shape/or form, or simply not possible to find a trailer such dimensions due to the Tandem AI having a bigger footprint than this when folded (I don' t know - I am assuming? Then again, people put these on the roof rack of cars which are 1m wide cars, so maybe it is possible? |

I believe the beam is 4' with the amas folded in. With that said and knowing that you would have the trailer wheels sticking out on each side, I don't think you would be able to go the traditional setup for a trailer. One option would be to find a narrower trailer and place the amas on top of the boat. A single width PWC trailer might work for that. |

Just measured mine, it's on a Trailex trailer. The crossbars are 52" long and my amas are right out to the edges of them. I don't have them snug to the sides of the main hull, so that could be squeezed 2 to maybe 3" narrower. The Trailex wheel set is 52" wide as well (my amas sit over the wheels). I'd say you'll have to go with stacking the amas on top of the main hull to fit your space. |

The uprights for my multi level trailer are 1250mm apart and I have 25mm clearance either end of the Hobie cradle, so yes you could fit a TI in your 1250 space. The problem will be finding a trailer narrow enough. As TI Tom said a JetSki trailer could be an option, with mounting bars above the mudguards. You are a wise man Damian, after our discussion about car topping on the i30. A TI friend who now lives in Canberra had a frame on his trailer to take one of those Thule boxes for gear. I could imagine a narrow trailer with the kayak on the base and the amas on the frame above. Easytrailer in Aus do a Overall Size 4100mm x 1360mm which is getting close. Cheers, Brian in SA |

Yakima rack and roll trailers have a unique foldable wheel setup. You could take one of those trailers and do surgury along the center of the trailer, cutting and re-joining along the center line to make it narrower, then just drill new attachment points for the axle braces. When I store my TI in my garage I typically remove the AMA's and pile them on top of the boat to make more room in the garage, you could do the same. FE |

The Hobie Kayak Trailer - Single AI or Pro Angler is 48"" or 122 cm wide which just might fit http://www.austinkayak.com/products/3501/Hobie-Kayak-Trailer-Single-AI-or-Pro-Angler.html Else try and buy a set of cross bars and get the Trailex Ultra Light Duty Boat Trailer with Leaf Springs - SUT-220-S which is 40" or 101 cm. I probably wounldn't want to tow such a narrow trailer any distance.
