I had a ram mount that i used with my chair on Hobie Proangler 12 for GPS. Is it safe to use this Ram mount for Sonar / GPS on the Aka Brace ?? ![]() ![]() |

I don't see why not; the brace has a safety cable at the outer dend, so yout FF/GPS head unit won't be lost overboard. |

I thought I saw a post on here awhile back where somebody lost their aka brace when they had an aka shear pin break. Supposedly, the pin and plastic keeper cable on the aka both broke, and the brace also became disconnected from the ball mount on the hull. I don't know how likely that is... I'd say the mount should be fine, just make sure you have a leash on the Sonar/GPS unit... just in case. |

Thanks.. I just wanted to make sure the mount did not weaken the brace in any way. I didnt plan on securing the sonar / brace.. But iam thinking of it now ![]() |
