Well the time is drawing near, likely the end of this month, for me to pull the trigger on a TI. Used ones can be found for 4-5k with trailer and tramps. The same brand new would be 8k. I am wondering if the seat and new hull shape and what other changes??? are worth the extra coin? I have never sailed an island before, and while all signs point to me LOVING it, I remain skeptical. If I KNEW I was going to like it I would try for new, but since skeptical I lean towards used. Are there any years I should avoid if used? What say you?? |

I found a gently/little used 2015 for a hair under 7k in April (Incl tramps, bunks and trailer). Very happy with it. |

We test sailed a 2014 and decided we were going to get one. However, when we saw the vantage seats we waited for a 2015. I'm glad I did. Sailing with your butt in a pool of water was not the most comfortable thing and the vantage seat takes care of that. IMHO the vantage seat was worth the extra money if not just to keep my wife happy and willing to join me (you use the boat more that way). You might be able to find a slightly discounted 2015 that a dealer wasn't able to move. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk |

if I go used I would be getting the attwood (I think, the name escapes me at this moment) that some have put in. apparently they fit right in. would cost 300 for the two seats so I am still a lot cheaper than new IF the seats work as others say they do. I have a vantage seat on my outback and LOVE it, so I am definitely tempted... |

I recently bought a new 2014 (yes, new out of the box). I have an AI 2 with a vantage CT seat, and didn't think the extra price (& extra weight) for a 2015 TI was worth it. While my wife & I don't mind the regular seats (w/ I-comfort inflatable pad) in the 2014, I am looking into an Attwood-type seat. Keith |

thanks for the input Keith. Shortly after posting this I realized that it makes way more since (cents???? lol) to buy used since I do not know what to expect with a TI. if I KNEW that a TI was the boat for me then buying new would make sense. unfortunately my track records seems to indicate I am hard to please or I have the attention span of a 3 year old!! I will probably be looking to get one at the end of the month... |
