Post subject: | AI-2: One Ama Hangs Low ? |
With amas folded in, the starboard ama hangs almost two inches lower than the left. viz: https://picasaweb.google.com/1081497986 ... 7548446098 OTOH, on the trailer the situation seems reversed: starboard higher than port: https://picasaweb.google.com/1081497986 ... 6993673474 The diff seems to be excessive play in the aft starboard aka. It's not the knuckle: both knuckles are equally tight. It's the part that inserts into the xbar: more rotation on that one than on the other 3. Strictly a convenience issue on land (a spar has to be wedged under the akas to keep the ama from rubbing on the beach wheels). With amas extended, the only immedately-apparent effect es that it is harder to mount/dismount that ama - probably because of the subtle twist in the aka's post as it inserts into the ama. But I have to wonder what is going on here and if I am headed for an "Interesting Experience" sometime out on the water on a windy day. Anybody care to speculate ? Has this AI had a hernia repair ? |
