I probably got one of the earlier 2015 TI's and a friend just got a 2016 TI and I noticed that the seat clips are different. The picture below shows my seat clip (this keeps you from loosing the seat in a capsize).

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the way the new seat is secured (some sort of quick clip) but it looks both easier and more secure. I think I need that new seat clip. is there a picture of this somewhere? For the hassle of trying to go buy this, I may just make something.

contact your local Hobie dealer, they can get you the new style with the buckles for free and they are much better than the ones you have pictured, i hear some people have lost seats in a capsize with the old red ones

Thanks, looks like I can just contact the dealer that I bought the boat from .. Or.. since Im about 900 miles from that dealer with one off the best parts of the adventure season just starting - plus being a serial modifier.. I might just kludge something better in place.

I replaced those posts as soon as I got my 2015 after seeing the clips fall off a couple of times. In addition I put a velcro wrap around the mounting rail on the front of the seat.
See my genius at work ( last April ) :

Little pricey going to West marine for this stuff (but worth it to go there for ideas). That old setup is gone, here is what is on there now. I had to bend the eye strap.
