I have been struggling with how much water is in my 2015 tandem islands after sailing in conditions where water breaks over the bow. I did a leak test and it seemed ok. That is when I noticed though that if I fill up the mast hole with water it drains from a small hole into the kayak. Is that right?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Like Keith said. Mine will fill all the way with water and stay that way. I have to use a sponge to get the water out after rinsing the boat down.

Ok, I'm going to caulk it. Weird that someone drilled it I think. Note I bought the boat new from the dealer and they didn't do it so it must have come from hobie that way. At least I found my leak!

Hi, i have the same problem.
I've been searching a long time to find out where from came all the water I had in my hull.
The more waves I took, the more water I got inside.
That's when I rinse my boat in my garden that I discover that hole at the bottom of the mast well !
I put a bit of tape on it, we'll see if it does matter.
