Post subject:  Rudder line leaks !!!

I just checked my rudder line tube, water has pushed out all small o-ring and plugs.
- How do you "seal" to prevent leak from rudder line leak on AI ?
- Bungee cord I bought from online are not quality. Where do people buy "hobie bungee"?

I need to fix this asap for upcoming trip. Thank you.

Do you anticipate that your rudder line openings will be underwater most of your trip? If they are not, those openings are probably not a serious leak. Serious leaks occur around the front hatch seal on some boats and around the flat (horizontal) hatches if the ring seals are not lubricated properly.

Yes the tankwell is underwater due to load I put on the back. Rudder line opening is one I need to fix.
I already did the ROID fix for the front hatch.

Before Hobie started using the rubber o-rings, we use to fill the ends of the rudder lines with silicon adhesive. Move the rudder just a little every couple of minutes till it sets, so it doesn't stick. It won't stop all water from the lines but will stop most of it. I fill it as far up the tube as it will easily go.

You may also want to shift some weight (battery?) forward to more even the trim of your boat.
