Starting to see fray because the snuffing line want to lay on the bottom of the the spinnaker when the spinnaker is flown opposite the side of the snuffer.  Applied sail tape to edge of sail to play it safe. This is more of an issue now that I modified the mast topper and ther is a bit more tension in the line. Will probably need to add line or switch out with a longer line. |

The line appears to be too short. What is your halyard length? |

Add a short piece of additional line. You can even improve performance a tiny bit by using a lightweight smaller diameter line from the top retrieval grommet to the bottom of the sail. You might have to add a button or some such to keep it from pulling through the top grommet-I think I remember that you have a top grommet and not a loop to attach the line to, right? |

i would start by putting the line through the lower hole in the sail the opposite way, that way the line comes out of the back of the sail when on the opposite side of the snuffer, then it comes out the front side when the sail is on the same side as the snuffer and there is more slack in this position... |

I had the same problem and did what "Carl M" said. It helps alot... However, it seems that the Halyard line for the early TI Spinnaker kits was a little short... Out of the blue, my dealer sent me a new halyard line that was longer than my original and said that Hobie was sending these longer lines out to early TI Spinnaker owners... Now the line is a little too long and I have to cut it next time out, but, the "free" longer line helps a lot. It really helps if you want to run the Spinnaker really "high" on the left side to pull the bow up going directly downwind with following waves . |

I think mine is a shortie, as when I raise the mast, I have to be extremely careful to make sure all possible halyard/backstayline is available, as it is definitely NOT a nice feeling while balancing the mast in my hands, keeping it vertical, and dreading downward pressure from the mastt-op. I certainly would rather have a longer line that stuffing around with a temporary extension as detailed in another thread Matt, how do I find out if mine is due for replacement? |

We increased line lengths early on. Contact your dealer to get a replacement if not about 83 feet (25.3 meter) for the Tandem Island. |

I had the same problem while raising the mast with the short Halyard line. The new longer one gives you plenty of slack while raising the mast. It is a non-issue now. |
