a guy in charlotte harbor in FLA is looking to buy some parts from an AI/TI...particularly a mast. contact him at www.3hulls.com

Also, I was sailing yesterday and a TI was sailing close bye. First time I got a chance to see one close up. That mast was really tall compared to mine (mine is only about 12 ft). Anyone know the length of their mast?

You need a new measuring tape I think If you have a 12' mast, someone saw you coming!:D

TI mast is 18'
AI2 mast is 16'5"
AI1 mast was (I think) 15' (owners can correct me.)

Thanks...the mast looked to be at least 5 ft taller, good to know my eyeball is pretty good.

Yah, my mast is undersized at 12 feet (it is actually a little shorter than that, but it is all carbon and very stiff), but since the boat (Triak) only weighs 100 pounds and the winds around here are usually in the mid to upper teens, I have plenty of power available with only the 3 sq meter mainsail. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the AI/TI are faster in most conditions especially when pedaled. I like the Triak since it came with a spinnaker out of the box, it's fiberglass and carbon-fiber construction, it is a sit-inside to keep me dry, it has only one aka behind the driver again to keep me dry (water is cold around here). I'm sure I'd like the AI or TI if I had gotten one.

Sincere apologies... as you can detect from my post, I wrongly assumed you had an AI with a short mast. (ducks head in shame)

Well, John, you posted that you were looking for them in the windrider forum, so I thought I'd give you some help and repost for you in the hobie forum--I figured you weren't a member here and also you'd likely get more response here than at windrider. BTW, appreciate the help with my Triak float enlargement. Dunno why you'd want a TI mast since it is so floppy. Might consider getting a windsurfer mast instead, it'll probably be less expensive and just as floppy.

The project that HE has in mind requires the strength and flexibility of the Hobie mast and the sail area is just right for the project.
