WaterTribe limits weight of crew and gear to 80% of a vessels stated capacity for its events. What will be Hobies stated load capacity for the 2017 Adventure Island?

My guess will be a lot less than it should be. We've been trying to get hobie to correct their CE sticker to include the amas for several years now.

It will undoubtedly be the same as it has been for years: 600#. As TI_Tom has noted, that does not include the buoyancy of the amas--probably at least another 150#.

These boats, the Hobie Islands, perform best when loaded to much less than their capacity.

Cant Bones,

First event it is easy to over pack to make sure you have everything you need. As a rule for me the only thing I have on top of boat is what will be needed for the next 12 - 24 hr run, without opening hatches while you are out there. I have separate food containers with exactly what is needed for the day, extra clothes / flash lights etc kept in dry bag on deck. I have noticed in a lot of these events is people tend to over load the boat because it can handle the weight. The boat will be faster and safer without overloading. Make sure you have done what is needed to keep hatches sealed properly and water tight and aka safety lines as posted on forum.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing you on the beach. It is a great time and you have the perfect boat.
