The 2017 Texas 200 is only about 6 months away now. Last year we had 3 islands out of maybe 60 sailboats. I plan on sailing it again and this time finish. I know of 4 islands planning to join us in 2017. Any other takers? Half of those joining us have never sailed this event so don't feel out of place if you have never done it before. Correction: we have 5 islands this year. |

I'm planning on doing it again in 2017. It was posted on the Facebook group today that they're going to add an alternate, "wrong way" route option. The start will be at magnolia beach, then it'll head south down the coast, then turn around back to magnolia beach. Could be an option for anyone not wanting to shuttle or wanting a bigger challenge! |

I'll be joining the group for my third tour of the Texas coast. It's really nice that the true craftsmen who build their own boats let the plastic Hobies join the fun. I have to say I think this is the best small boat event on my calendar each year. The route, crowd, and organization are great. It should be on everyone's bucket list. Had a great time sailing with "ChadBack". Next year I'm going to stash my gear on his boat to slow him down! Yakmandu |

Great to hear Yakmandu! Will Mike be joining us too? This brings our island boat number up to seven if JCollins joins us too. This year promises to be great fun! |

Sounds comfortable. No trees at the camps so you'll need something rigged up. Anyone wanting to join in this year should reserve a room and a boat slip at the White Sands Motel before January. Other motels are available but the captian's meeting is held there. They fill up fast. Rates are very reasonable. Their phone number is 956-943-2414. Two islands can share a boat slip. EDIT; Most will need to reserve two nigjts, Saturday and Sunday. Captians meeting is Sunday Morning and launch is Monday morning. |

If any TI owner is looking for a willing crew for this year's Texas 200, please contact me. I'm a long-time (meaning older) sailor and have owned a TI for the past three years. As an inland sailor, I have zero navigational experience to add to the team, but I am a pretty strong pedaler, having bicycled across the country a few years ago. Im going to try to smoke a bunch of chicken breast, and cheese for some of the camp meals on the TX200 mixed with can goods as sides, like season green beans, etc... bring tortillas and over a camp fire with aluminum foil can make quesadillas. Going to try to make food good as much as i can ![]() Plus I got plenty of room on my AI with two coolers for dry and cold goods. ![]() |

New to this forum. I started looking at the TX 200 a couple of months ago. Then "Living Waters" hit me up about it. I will be joining you all on this trip. I have a 2012 TI. Sailed all over TX coast and camped out of it quite a bit also. See you guys in June. Earl |

Welcome aboard Earl! Looking forward to sailing with you. Talked to Living Waters today. He is looking to split the boaT slip fees with someone. You may want to touch base with him. |
