I found a solution to a problem that may interest anyone looking for a safe quick release type attachment at the clew of a headsail without using metal. Used for attaching jib sheets, etc. This increases your safety and protects the boat (especially the mainsail) from damage during tacking. This works well if you use the same sheet for multiple headsails, but you may think of other uses. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

A great tooth saver.... Currently when I run all my control lines to my jibs and spinnakers, I always just tie the end of the line with a clove hitch (the only knot I know lol). The knots pull tight, then when I want to remove the knot I usually use my teeth(lol). I love the simple concept. I will slide a ball onto the ends of all my control lines, then simply tie a knot on the end of the line (probably a clove hitch since it's the only knot I know,(lol)). Then I will just double the line, slip thru the eyelet, slip the ball thru then pull tight. Brilliant solution that I can implement everywhere. Thanks FE |
