My 2012 TI has two bungee anchors each of the two rear akas. The front akas have one each. Does this mean my rear akas were replaced with the new dual bungee version, and I could swap out my rear ama bungees with the dual version? All four ama bungees are single-bungees. Thanks, Brian |

Hi Brian, My 2012 TI is the same. I suspect Hobie started making the engineering changes for the new model early which suggests you could switch to the newer dual shock cords. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thanks, Brian My advice, provided you have at least modest DIY skills, is to simply make up your own double bungee system. I have, but also, as a last minute thing, bought a pair of Hobie's new double bungee sets. Ouch! At $A20 each, I am not so sure that was a good investment! Here is one of my earlier posts. The thread might also contain other helpful info. viewtopic.php?f=75&t=51010&p=277359&hilit=double+bungee#p277359 While you are at it, add some strong safety lines which will retain the ama to the aka even if both your bungees fail (or, far more likely, you use the ama to climb back aboard from the water) |

Ok, thanks both. Double bungees with spectra it is. I may get the Hobie ones for the rear aka as a money vs time tradeoff... I gots lots o' mods on my list! Brian |

As an aside, I believe the second set of buttons on the rear akas were part of the abandoned Hobie jib system (as was the tab about 3/4 up the mast). Now that they switched to a spinnaker, they provide more buttons to be fitted along the rear akas. |
