Post subject: | Sail coming off of top of mast-broken strap |
]When we went sailing today in our TI we noticed that the sail was bunched up at the bottom and we could see that the top of the sail was riding around 1 foot below the top of the mast. When we got to land and took the mast out we saw that the strap that holds the sail at the top of the mast was broken. Is there any fix for this or do we need to but a new sail. I will try to send a picture if I can figure out hot to do it. Do I need an url from a hosting site? Thanks |

You could probably sew a new strap on. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk |

The strap is so frayed I don't think that there is any room to sew anything on to them. Has anyone tried other ways of attaching a strap or cord? Thanks ![]() web photo hosting |

Just trim off the old strap where it exits the sail sleeve and sew the new strap on the webbing that goes around the sail sleeve. It doesn't have to be industrial strength since all that strap is doing is providing the torque for the top of the sail to furl. You're the first I've heard of breaking the strap. |
