I'm installing the spinnaker kit from Hobie on my TI. The instructions say to install the sock on the starboard akas and run the halyard lines along the starboard side of the hull. However, this means that the halyard must run either under or over the mainsail sheet especially in the stern because it is also rigged on the starboard side, at least in my 2012 boat. This seems a bad idea to me. Would there be any problem with rigging the sock and halyard on the port side of the boat, which has no lines with which to interfere? I don't see any, but maybe I'm missing something?

You will be trading off your leverage to pull the sail back into the sniffing bag if your right handed. Not a huge deal. I run a jib out of a portside stuffing bag currently. I do find it a bit more ackward to bring in the portside jib vs the starboard spinnaker.
