I'm really confused. The standard installation has the Spinnaker halyard leaving the rear of the snuffler bag and going around a pulley attached to the rear aka, about half way out. From there it goes forward through the cam cleat on the front aka. I'm 6 foot tall, but when I sit in the rear seat and reach toward the halyard I'm a good 12" from being able to reach it. What am I missing?

Dave,
You can see in this pic how much halyard you should have at the rear seat-

Stringy,
That's exactly what I ended up doing but the halyard that came with the Spinnaker kit was not long enough to do that. I had to buy a new halyard line that was long enough. Do you have an Adventure island? I'm wondering if the line in the kit is only long enough for an Adventure Island, and is too short to extend to the rear cockpit on a Tandem Island. The problem is the new Halyard I bought is not as stiff as the kit Halyard and tends to twist up and get stuck in the pulleys. I've had a couple of close calls because I couldn't lower my Spinnaker.

Matt,
Is there a difference in the length of the halyard line between the Adventure Island kit and the Tandem Island kit? Maybe I got the wrong one.

Mine was a TI spinnaker kit fitted to a TI. There is quite a difference.
You did get the TI spinnaker kit?
Maybe the halyard you got was from an AI?
