A number of years ago I bought my daughter a car from out of state The VIN was messed up and copied a 0 as a C It took 5 visits of 3-4 hours each, to the DMV to get cleared up and _only_ because the lady recognized me and took pity and had been there forever “Weren’t you here for this recently?, let me take care of this, car for your daughter eh?” “Yes mam, this is visit 5” Since I got an AI that is 16ft plus, I have to register it I _think_ the SN is ___J 1219 G617 but The “G” is very ‘artistic’ as is the “J” The “J” could also be an anchor symbol The “G” could also be “C2” with the “C” pointing slightly upwards or something else I just want to go commune with nature and not have existential fear of anything other than alligators, irked manatees and sudden squalls. |

The following link has the general format for serial numbers though there are some variations on earlier models: https://www.hobie.com/articles/boat-serial-number-location,15/ Looks like you have read the bits you have correctly but are missing the beginning. On my Oasis this is “US-HCC” but this will vary based on location of manufacture. You should request a copy of the “Manufacturer's Statement of Origin” (MSO) from the dealer it was originally purchased from. This document is provided to the receiving dealer by Hobie, contains the serial number, and is required in many states for registration. Peter |

Rubbed some contrast on it, ripped up some green grass off lawn Ah, HCCJ 1219 G 617 Is hobie made in USA HCCJ 1219 July, made in 2016. G617 It’s a 2017 model year? |

Yes, serial number indicates a 2017 model built in July 2016. |
