I'm in the Cape Coral/Fort Myers Florida area for a couple of months and looking for a good place to sail. I've tried the ramp at Bokeelia on Pine Island and the ramp near the bridge to Sanibel Island, but both are very crowded. Can anyone suggest a good place to sail in the area? |

Have you tried going south to the Marco or Everglades areas? There are several places. We put in at Goodland Boat Park yesterday and sailed (mostly peddled) down to the Cape Romano Dome Home. Lots of beach to pull up on and the Dome Home was something to see and read about. That's about an 8.5 mile trip each way. Nice ramp. A little further south on 41 is Everglades City and Chokoloskee Island. Less crowded. The water in Chokoloskee Bay is very shallow so keep an eye on the tides and make sure that you have a good map. The area is interesting and you can camp in the park with a permit. Going north, you can launch from City Island park (just around the corner from the Sarasota Sailing Squadron) |

Rosen Park has a launch area and you can wander around. 4 Mile Eco is near there |
