Hi all,
I always felt the need to have a quick look at the boat speed when sailing. I have a Garmin GPS in my pocket, but I have to take it everytime. Once I saw a professional instrument used for sailing boat racing but was quite expensive for our non competing needs lately I saw that several biking computers are based on GPS position and not on the wheels speed. They are quite cheap starting from 40 ,$ I thought it could be interesting for us to place it in the bar. Does anybody did it?

Yes - before I bought a small chartplotter, I used my Garmin 510 to measure speed and record my journey so I could view/analyse on the PC when I got home. Worked well.
