Post subject: | Questions about seat modifacations |
Hi Everyone, now I'm back with another question: My AI has the older style seat. I'd like to modify it and have looked at many posts & YouTubes and there are many good approaches out there, but they all raise the seat up higher, maybe 4-6 inches higher, so my questions: #1 does this cause the sail, clew and mainsheet hardware to hit you in the head & face while tacking or jibing? I'm not that tall but there's not much clearance with the original seat, #2 does this effect the boat's center of gravity and if so, how? Thanks for your comments! LakeWacSailors |

You're supposed to duck as the sail comes across. Pretty similar to all sailboats in this regard. So yes, if the seat raises you higher, the sail foot/clew will contact you lower than it did previously. |

It absolutely raises your centre of gravity. This will be an issue if you paddle in rough conditions |
