Post subject:  Help needed. TI Declaration Confirmation

Hello to all.
I try to get my TI in Spain registered BUT
to do so, they want a Declaration Confirmation.
I searched unsuccessful the web and hobies page.
Does anyone know, how to get, where to find?
Any help very much appreciated.
Many thanks.

When you buy a new TI from a Hobie dealer, you should receive a title declaration document in addition to the sales receipt. Most Hobie dealers mail in this document directly to the State along with the registration form and fee. In the USA some (most) states require you to send this document in along with standard registration form and $. In return....after several weeks or months... you will receive a "title" to the TI as proof of ownership and a sticker to place on the TI.

I am not familiar with the rules in Spain, but I assume there is a similar process.

Now if you are buying a used TI.... gets a bit more complicated depending on what documentation the seller is providing....best case the seller (of the used TI) has the official State title to the TI that gets transferred to the buyer. The buyer then submits a new registration form along with the title from the seller (plus $ to cover any taxes due (State always gets their $)) and registration fee. The State then sends you a new title to the used TI. If the seller does not have the title.... it can get complicated and may require additional documentation and phone calls to convince the State that you are buying a legitimate used TI and not a stollen kayak....

Hope this helps.
