Hi everyone  Can someone please confirm what is the maximum weight for a rider on the Mirage Tandem Island? Would it be safe for a 295lbs person to sail by itself? And what about with a 160lbs companion? I know that the max capacity is 600 lbs but i am not sure if there is a individual limit. Sorry if this is a stupid question

From what I read, you could exceed the weight limit, but doing so will affect the craft's handling. It is unlikely to sink to the bottom of the ocean if you overload it by 100 pounds. I wouldn't worry about someone weighing 300 pounds so long as they are centered on the kayak. |

I am not at the same location as my TI right now but there is a weight limit for the seats and it is less than 295lbs. It might be around 250lbs if I recall. |

See this thread for more details on the weight limit for the Hobie TI. https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic. ... it#p336540 The Hobie 2022 TI Vantage Seat has a weight limit of 275 lbs.  20240728_132247 by Jim Powers, on FlickrThe 600 lbs. weight limit includes all passengers AND ALL gear. As you load down the TI with extra weight, the performance (sailing speed, pointing) begins to degrade (due to the TI sitting lower in the water). Just something you need to keep in mind.
