I have a trailer with the Hobie Trailer Saddles bolted to the
crossframes. The rear saddle has three fibreglas columns holding
the molded-carpeted saddle. There are no drain holes for the columns
except for the bolt holes themselves!
If you tighten up the frame bolts, there is no good drainage from the
columns!
I found the taller, central column had collected water and had not drained
even after 12 hours!

I recommend a small drain hole be drilled horizontally near the bottom of
all five bolt columns to drain water away.

The retention of water in the columns could do real corrosion especially
if the trailer saddles have gotten saltwater dripped on it from the AI hull.
