I'm planning to put a second level on my TI trailer to transport a second kayak, gear box, etc. and want to be sure I have enough clearance for the TI I don't have yet to slide in between the uprights. TI cradles are 46 1/2" wide so I was thinking of making the width between my uprights 48 or 50". Is there anything sticking out beyond this width on a TI with Amas folded in that I need more space for ? I don't have a TI to look at so I thought I better ask about this before I start cutting and welding.

Chris,
I have a distance of 4'1" (1245mm) between the uprights on my trailer. This gives about a 1" clearance either side of the end of the cradle. I found when sliding the TI on, the nose of the ama splayed out a little, so I allowed a bit extra in the width for this. A bungee attached to the padeyes on the ama nose bring the ama together and make loading easier.
Adding a rear third cradle has improved loading/unloading as it lines everything up, making it easier to slide the TI between the uprights. It also makes it easy to fit a cart when removing the TI as it supports the cantilevered hull really well.

Ok, I'll go with 49-50". Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something on the width.
I will have a cradle in the back also but it will be my cart mounted on some yet to be determined quick release coupling. I'm going to try the PVC bunk method to support the hull along with a roller in the rear to help with loading/unloading.
Thanks for posting your pics again, your trailer is very similar to what I have in mind.
