I'm trailering my TI on a Yakima Rack and Roll trailer (2" tongue). I'd like to add a winch/winch stand/bow stop. Looking for recommendations preferably without needing to modify the trailer. Don't want to spend more than $150. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No idea about a post for a Yakima but I can comment winches. This is from a previous post I made: Herbaldew wrote: I started with a T1100 Fulton winch with a 20' strap. It worked fine but had a 4.1:1 ratio and 7 inch handle. It took a lot of easy cranks to get the strap wound in. That winch had a defect so I returned it. I then bought a Fulton T600 winch that didn't include a strap. It was rated to only hold a 15' strap but I found THIS 20' STRAP at WalMart for half the price and it is also a little thinner so it fits on the T600 perfectly. The T600 has a 3.1:1 ratio and a 6" handle. I just tried it out and it loaded up my TI complete with my 29.5# motor on the back just fine. The different ratio and shorter handle did away with the "too much cranking syndrome" but was still easy to crank. Not really endorsing Fulton, just pointing out that for the weight of a TI a higher geared winch is better for me. Not dissing Fulton either, second one is still working fine and the defect of the first one was actually shipping damage. |

Check out the SkyWinch. Rated at 1000 lbs. and you can order on line at WalMart, etc. It uses a 3/8'-1/2" line, works much like a sheet winch on a monohull. Compact, easy to mount. |

I second the SkyWinch. I just put one on last month and it works great. I will thank one of the other members Bill A for telling me about it. The winch does not have a strap. You use your bow line. As you pull the boat onto the cradles, you can just wrap the line around the winch, pull it tight and start cranking. Works great and what a back saver! The line can then be released/removed from the winch. I don't know about how to mount on your particular trailer. I have the Trailex one. |

Thanks for the tip on the SkyWinch. Ordered one today. Need to get a winch stand. Trying to get the specs on the SkyWinch mounting holes. Are mounting holes on winches and winch stands standardized? |

There are holes on the SkyWinch, but I had to drill the holes in my Trailex. I would wait till you get everything and measure twice/ drill once. Make sure you put the winch handle on when measuring to make sure it is not hitting anything. Good luck! |
