I am doing a project on Hobie Kayaks for a marketing class at Ferris State University. I am specifically doing the project on Hobie kayaks. I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer: What is the mark up for kayaks? (profit margin) What is the price to manufacture the kayaks? Whole sale price? Retail price? What is the market share for kayaks? These are the questions and information I have yet to find so if anyone knew any of this information or where to find it this would be greatly appreciated! |

Only Hobie Cat would know most of these details and it would not be something we would share openly. A dealer would share the retail price (many models of different price levels), but would not share their costs. We do not divulge market stats either, so tough project... I can only suggest an email to [email protected] as a possibility that management would share some data with you privately. Data like this is rarely shared due to the competitiveness in any industry. You might be able to see some data from a public company's annual reports... we are private. |
