Hi, I'm thinking of getting both the Adventure Island, and the Mirage Sport. We'll often be taking both out together, and I'll sometimes take the AI solo. I can't decide whether to get the Single AI Trailer (with cradle set) and somehow stack the Mirage Sport on top of the AI, or get the Double Kayak Trailer. Either trailer would fit in my driveway, but ISTM the single would be easier to move / store. I'm just not sure if stacking would be practical / risk damage, or if the Double would somehow be easier to use. Thoughts? |

Having a trailer that handles two or more makes it so much easier. How often do you plan on taking both? the weight limit on the single trailer isn't that high (220ish?), However I know many folks that well exceed it without problem. With the Sport being light, you could probably get away with stacking it on top with some foam/noodles, etc. if you choose to do that I would recommend PVC bunks rather than the cradles. An upper deck would be pretty difficult on a trailex single , especially with the single beam. Personally I think you would end up dropping more money into it vs purchasing the double. The real question is whether or not you may decide to upgrade to another Island...... I began with an Outback, then added An AI. After a while my friends got jealous of me doing circles around them. Soon two AIs... Now AI, TI & i11s.... Lots of trailers and modifications... More mods... over the years- as my wife continues to tell me- should have just done it right the first time. |

Yes, I agree with Yakker, a double trailer would be much better. Stacking boats on top of each other would be a real hassle and likely would not stay stacked traveling any distance. Keith |
