Has anyone installed a Boonedox Landing Gear on a 2015+ AI? Pictures/video? Seems like a better way to transport it than the Dolly / scupper cart. |

Don't think we can buy Boonedox in Australia. I had to design my own attached wheel system for my TI. To avoid having wheels in the way of the users it was necessary to mount them back behind the rear seat and luggage area. That meant way behind the centre of gravity so a front wheel was also necessary. The rear wheels can be deployed and retrieved from the rear seat before landing and after launch. The front wheels are swung up just before jumping aboard and deployed just after jumping off the front at the boat ramp. I've been thinking about adding the Boonedox to my AI and TI (already have it on my livewatersports paddle board). The only con with it is weight. It's close to a full 10lbs. Pending how you transport it adds a lot of weight. I'd recommend purchasing some 1/4 in aluminum at least 12in long for backing plates. I wouldn't trust the ones they supply as they are only about 3". |

I havent installed one yet, but it wouldnt be too difficult. The main modification would be to use the longest & widest piece of aluminum (or backer plate) that will fit inside the hull. I need to look at my AI, but if I do it- I will more than likely use 12" gear track with backing plate and then mount the Boonedox to that. Similar to what folks (and I have done) to add a motor to a TI. The biggest downside that I see to the Boondox is weight. It is a heavy add on. I like using the C-tug more and more... |
