Do I need the cradle since the TI is heavy?
I have some stuff in my TI of which the heavies is a small ice chest in the front compartment, snorkel gear, 2.5 lb anchor and that's about it. I don't fish so have no large gear or heavey ice chests.

Yes you need the cradle regardless of how much extra gear you are carrying.
The TI is very heavy as is and the scuppers need all the help they can get. That’s why Hobie made the cradle.

Get it. A bare TI is 240# without extra gear that you WILL put on it. That’s a lot to lay on two scupper holes.
