Post subject:  Tandem Island Harken Hoist Garage Ceiling

I have an older tandem island. I needed to find a way to get it up and out-of-the-way in my garage. I came across the harken hoist. it has a 200 pound load limit. So I got my main body of the kayak, two pedal drive systems, and the mast up in the ceiling. All that is under 200lbs.

I'm curious about any thoughts or advice around what I have going on here. Thanks!

From the current manual:

This would seem to imply what you're doing is okay, but you should have the boat upside down. I guess if you really wanted to be safe, you could get a pair of cradles and hang those from the Harken.

Thank you! I have it hanging upsidedown now. I was surprised how easy it was to flip. Thanks for linking that info.
