Hello, I'm getting ready to buy a PA12 and I'm trying to figure out storage and transportation. I have a Honda HR-V, and my current plan is to roof-mount the PA12 with a set of Yakima BigCatch mounts and use a Rhino Rack Universal Side Loader to help get the kayak on and off the roof. Everything I read tells me this should work, but consensus seems to be that I really should get a trailer. Previously I ruled this out because I have no place to put a trailer. I have a 2-car garage but that's where we keep the cars. I have a side yard I could keep one in, but there's a 42 in wide gate in the way. Recently I found this foldable trailer from Northern Tool Ultra-Tow 4ft x 8 ft Folding Utility Trailer and that caught my interest because I could fit it through my gate, but it has a max speed of 45 mph and any of the fishing spots I'd drive to have roads where 70 mph is the safe lower speed limit. I also found the Bulldog Folding Kayak / Canoe Trailer, but I'm waiting to find out if I can get one in Texas. Does anyone have a suggestion for any other trailers that might suit my needs? Thanks! |
