A few years ago I read a story about someone putting a 'wing' type metal boom sail on a hobie cat in Sydney harbor to see how it would sail. i cannot find it now, and would appreciate help in finding information about it. I believe Telstra sponsored the trial.. and that it went like the clappers. Anyone remember this? |

Neither of the boats listed above are "navigable." In other words, they are on one perpetual tack. They can't turn. The Hobie TrFoiler still holds the Class A world record, for speed in a navigable sailboat. |

I get the same results. I am hoping someone who has firsthand knowledge of this will reply. Surely someone in the hobie fraternity has heard about it.? |
