| Post subject: | V-Brace Maintenance |
Hey All, Just wondering how tight the V-brace under the sail should be. I'm not getting any deflection, but I don't want a problem either... Any suggestions? |

When your mast no longer catches, or catches but won't reach its seat fully, you need to adjust it so that it will. gwiz |

Or, on the other end, when your mast goes down too far and rests on the upper bearing housing, you need to adjust the V-brace so that the mast is lifted clear. If you go too far, you will raise it above the catch, as gwiz says. I coated mine with Boeshield T-9 to protect against corrosion. Two or more different metals plus salt water can never be good. |
