Hey friends - my mast on my AI still occasionally pops out, even after replacing the little clamp mechanism, I noticed that the new AIs have a very aggressive locking mechanism that, frankly, should be available as a free upgrade in my opinion. I will contact my dealer to get the scoop but I wanted to fun this by the forum for your responses.

The only thing it can be is the mast isn't getting fully locked to begin with - to check the fit see the manual...but basically what you might need to do it adjust the v frame inside the hull to get the deck height set correctly - not sure of anything else that might b causing that.

In order to change to the current past step you also need a completely different mast - all parts are sold through your dealer..but are not a free upgrade.

also check the little steel plate that locks the mast sometimes its retaining bolt works loose and the plate lies off at an angle and wont engage.

Also...

Check to be sure the lock tab is springing back to the proper position. Early ones were not the correct material and we offered free replacements as shown in the AI Tech info (top of this forum).
