Matt, This is how the up/down lines were routed by the factory on my TI rudder assembly: ![]() ![]() Note how both the lines are routed through one drum hole and not one in each hole as the instructions call for. Is this now standard for the TI or an assembly oversight? ![]() |

Makes no difference in operation since we no longer use the two separate adjuster screws the original rudder system came with. |

By the look of it Stringy that rudder assembly has a crack through it and has an attack of corrosion, or is it just the picture?.....Pirate |

Thanks for that Matt and for your original input with the cracked drum. Hobie Aus replaced the drum assembly and Sailing Scene posted it to me. ![]() I've just fitted it. The older system with the adjuster screws was much easier to replace. Tying that knot was very difficult. I didn't want the hassle of disconnecting the lines inside the hull -which is probably what should be done. I marked where the lines exited the hull and then clamped them with vicegrips so the bungee tension didn't retract the lines. You don't mind paying good money for something when the manufacturers and dealers go out of their way to keep customer loyalty...Pirate |
