Post subject: | Rudder Screws are pulling out. Help |
Twice now while sailing my rudder assembly has come off the kayak. Whats happening is the 2 screws that hold the rudder bracket to the actual hull are pulling out while sailing. IS there any fix to this problem? My local dealer mentioned buying some locktite. But at that point the skews would be permanently attached... thanks |

Loc Tite is required and is what we use. Blue Loc Tite allows the bolts to be removed. Red is more permanent. |

Check the length of the bolts holding the gudgeon to the stern (on the '11 & newer models w/the bigger rudder). I remember some posts where 3/4" bolts were used instead of the 1"bolts, causing a problem. |

Used the Blue Locktite on it yesterday. Hopefully that fixes it. Thanks |
