I am new TI owner using the Hobie Trax "2-30" kayak cart. I sometimes want to remove the wheels and stow them in the kayak, but I've found the cotter pins on the cart to be a bit of a pain to put on and take off when they're wet. I'd like to replace them with lynch pins, but I can't find any that are small enough. The smallest size seems to be 3/16" diameter, but it looks like I need 1/8" diameter. If anyone knows where I could find 1/8" diameter lynch pins, or could suggest some other solution I'd appreciate it. |

You could add a short line to use to pull them. Or simply pass a line through when you want to pull them. |

Matt, That's a good idea for removing them, but it doesn't help with getting them back on which is the more difficult of the two procedures. I had a kayak cart made by TMS that had lynch pins on the axles, and I think they would have been small enough. We use a lynch pin in some of our carts... 80046021 PIN, QUICK CLIP KAYAK CART z50.jpg) The pin looks to be 3/16" diameter. The limiting issue is the length of the axle beyond the hole. You can't flip the ring over if the hole is too far inboard. |

I have had 2 of these pins that Matt pictured on my PA (80046021 PIN, QUICK CLIP KAYAK CART) fall out and become lost in the water. Any alternative for those? |
