The rudder casting holes on my 2015 TI won't line up with the gudgeon holes due to the rudder quadrant touching the transom. Has anyone had this problem? It looks like I may have to re-contour the quadrant so that there is enough clearance for the holes in the rudder and the gudgeon to align. |

No problems with mine. I'll measure to see how much clearance I have between my transom and rudder quadrant. |

Today was the first day that I was able to get the TI out of storage and set it up. I have a few concerns and questions for the group. My rudder issue is severe. I'll need to file the quadrant to allow the holes to line up. There is no way that they test fit the rudder at Hobie. It just won't allow installation without modification. The Amas appear to be asymmetrical like the hobie 14, & 16 hulls., but I have two amas that are the same! Is this another quality control issue or do I have two starboard/right Amas? |

Some photos would help. |

The AMA are the same - that is correct, they are not like a H16 hull (asymmetrical) Not seeing a photo of the transom issue is making it difficult to help you out. We do install all the rudders on the kayak in assembly to set the string tensions before removing it from the hull for shipping. Your dealer is the place to turn if you have an issue - the forum is great, but ultimately if you have questions - call your dealer. |

I saw photos. This gudgeon was pressed into the transom significantly. The only way that happens is storing the boat on the transom for a period of time or having heavy constant load pushing it in. The material "creeps" under constant load. |
