Hello I keep on repainting the crossbar on my AI 2008. Need to replace the screws that hold the crossbar against the kayak. Can someone help me with the order number or dimensions of the screws? see pictures https://www.dropbox.com/s/m9kbodboe61nd ... 2.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/9fa9j403yd1nd ... .jpeg?dl=0 |

I'm pretty sure those are just standard screws, nothing special, you can likely pick up new screws at Home Depot or Lowes, if not order SS screws on line from any place, they are likely only $.30 cents ea max. On your AKA bars if you sand them down, then prime first with aluminum primer, then black, then clear coat they will last longer. Once painted and clean if you take 3m black 33 electrical tape and wrap it around all your AKA bars like you would bike handle bars. Mine have been wrapped for 4yrs now with no issues and still look like new and I'm not gentle with them at all, I just toss them in the back of the truck. If the tape gets banged up you just re-tape (I haven't had to do that yet). Warning you have to use 3m 33 black electrical tape nothing else works, the black color is really important because it's impervious to UV sun damage, and only 3M's adhesives last the duration, all the rest the adhesives fail in a few months and they fall off. Hope this helps FE |

West Marine had a wide selection of SS screws of all sizes to choose from. It's another source to consider. |
